Q.
How do I get to your office?
We are located on the west end of town (just west
of Ace On The Curve), located on the southwest corner of
Shield
Drive
and Lincoln.

Q. How do I change my court date?
You must contact the Routt County Courts directly, 970-879-5020.
The Sheriff’s Office can NOT change court dates under any circumstance.
Q. How do I get my car out of impound?
Contact dispatch at 970-879-1090 to determine which tow company has impounded
your vehicle. Contact that tow company to determine that there is no Police
Hold on the vehicle. Pay fines for tow and storage. Prior to the release of
the vehicle, proof of current registration and insurance is required.
Q. How do I get fingerprinted?
Public fingerprinting is available Monday through Friday, between the hours
of 8:00 am to 11:00 am. No appointment is necessary for regular public fingerprinting
during these hours. A Fingerprint Identification Form and a processing fee
of $10 is required prior to fingerprinting. The Fingerprinting Identification
Form can be downloaded from the Forms page
of this web site, or by stopping by the Reception Desk of the Routt County
Sheriff's Office.
Q. What are your hours of operation?
We are open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. We
are closed all County holidays. In order to bond out inmates the jail is open
24 hours a day.
Q. How do I get a hold of the courts?
You can contact the Routt County Courts at 970-879-5020.
Q. How do I fill out an Accident Report online?
The Colorado Online Accident
(click here) is provided by the Colorado State
Patrol.

Weapons Applications Process |
Carry
Concealed Weapon (CCW) permits are available at the Reception
Desk of the Routt County Sheriff's Office during normal
office hours. A
CCW permit applicant shall complete
the permit application and return it, in person, to the
Routt
County
Sheriff’s
Office
between the hours of 8:00 am and 11:00 am, Monday through
Friday. The Routt County Sheriff's Office is located at
2025 Shield Drive, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477.
When submitting an application,
applicants need to allow time to be fingerprinted as
a part of the application process. Your Carry Concealed
Weapon permit application signature may be completed in
the presence
of a Routt County
Sheriff's
Office
employee or with a Notary as witness.
In addition
to the completed application form, CCW permit applicants
must submit the following:
1. A $52.50 processing fee in the form of a cashier’s check or money
order, made payable to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
2. A $100.00 processing fee in the form of a cashier’s
check, money order, or personal check, made payable to the Routt County
Sheriff’s
Office.
3. Proof of Routt County residency, such as a valid Colorado Drivers License.
4. Documentary evidence demonstrating competence with a handgun
as specified in the Training Section of the Application Information Packet.
Carry Concealed Weapon and Closed Quarter Battle
training is available through the Routt County
Sheriff's Office as one option of demonstrating competence
with handguns. Please contact us at 970-879-1090 for
dates and availability.
Once a completed application has been submitted, please allow approximately
two weeks for review by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. A representative
from the Routt County Sheriff's Office will contact the applicant when the
application process has been completed. Approved applicants will then be
required to come to the Routt County Sheriff's Office for a photo and to
receive their CCW permit.

"Ladies
Night On The Range"
A women's only experience! Come join Mike Curzon of the
Routt County Sheriff's Office for firearms training and
an opportunity to hone your shooting skills in the comfort
of a women
only
environment.
All experience and skill levels are encouraged to take
part. Beginners will be taught firearm safety and basic
technique, while
more advanced shooters will learn to enhance their
skills in target shooting and personal defense.
"Ladies Night On The Range" is offered late
spring through early fall, weather permitting. For dates,
times, and additional information,

ChildSafe® - Free Gun Locks
|
Keep firearms safe,
put a lock on them! Gun locks are available for free from
the Routt County Sheriff's Office during normal business
hours. Just stop by the reception area and ask for a free
gun lock.
